Azide-Poly-L-lysine-Thiol (N3-PLL-SH) is a linear heterobifunctional poly(L-lysine) with an azide and a thiol group on the PLL ends. PLL is a positively charged synthetic polyamino acid, and crystalline solid soluble in water. Azide can be used for molecule conjugation by click chemistry, andthiol can react with -SH or maleimide groups. Azide-PEG-thiol may be used to for bioconjugation, drug delivery, PLL hydrogel, crosslinker, and surface functionalization.
Applications for poly-L-lysine include the promotion of cell adhesion to solid substrates for culture dishes or slides, the conjugation to active molecules for improved activities, the layer-by-layer deposition techniques, and the complexation with nucleic acids for gene expression.
