Description
General Description
NPC-PEG-NPC is a homobifunctional polyethylene glycol derivative containing p-nitrophenyl carbonate (NPC) groups at both PEG termini.
The terminal NPC groups are amine-reactive activated carbonates that can react with primary amines (NH₂), including amine-containing proteins, peptides, and other biomolecules, to form stable carbamate linkages.
Because NPC groups are present at both ends, NPC-PEG-NPC can serve as a bifunctional PEG spacer or crosslinker for connecting two amine-containing molecules while introducing a hydrophilic and flexible PEG segment.
NSP offers NPC-PEG-NPC with different PEG molecular weights for bioconjugation, PEGylation, crosslinking, biomolecule modification, and surface functionalization.

Conjugation Chemistry
The terminal p-nitrophenyl carbonate (NPC) groups react with primary amines to form stable carbamate linkages with release of p-nitrophenol as the leaving group. Primary amines on proteins, peptides, antibodies, amine-functionalized polymers, nanoparticles, and surfaces can be coupled with NPC-PEG-NPC. Because activated carbonate groups are present at both PEG termini, NPC-PEG-NPC can function as a homobifunctional crosslinker, connecting two amine-containing molecules through a PEG spacer.
