Description
General Description
Biotin-PEG-SH is a heterobifunctional PEG reagent containing a biotin group at one end and a thiol group at the other. The PEG spacer provides excellent water solubility, flexibility, and biocompatibility while minimizing steric hindrance during bioconjugation reactions.
The terminal thiol group readily reacts with maleimides, vinyl sulfones, acrylates, and activated disulfides, enabling efficient attachment to proteins, peptides, antibodies, nanoparticles, surfaces, and other biomolecules. The biotin group provides high-affinity binding to streptavidin and avidin, making Biotin-PEG-SH an excellent linker for targeted conjugation, molecular assembly, diagnostics, and biofunctionalization applications.
