Description
General Description
PLGA-di-Biotin is a biodegradable polyester derived from D,L-lactide and glycolide and functionalized with biotin moieties at both termini. The PLGA backbone provides excellent biodegradability and biocompatibility, while the biotin groups offer strong and selective affinity interactions with streptavidin, avidin, and neutravidin.
The combination of biodegradable PLGA and biotin functionality makes PLGA-di-Biotin particularly useful for the preparation of targeted nanoparticles, drug delivery systems, imaging probes, and biofunctional materials. Through the well-established biotin-streptavidin interaction, the polymer enables efficient immobilization, surface modification, and assembly of complex biomaterials for pharmaceutical, diagnostic, and biomedical applications.
