General Description
Biotin-PEG4-Azide (Biotin-PEG4-Nā) is a biotin-containing click chemistry linker consisting of a biotin moiety, a defined PEG4 spacer, and a terminal azide (Nā) functional group.
The terminal azide reacts with terminal alkynes through copper(I)-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) or with strained cyclooctynes such as DBCO and BCN through strain-promoted azide-alkyne cycloaddition (SPAAC).
The biotin moiety provides strong noncovalent binding to avidin, streptavidin, and neutravidin. This enables click-labeled biomolecules to be detected, captured, purified, or immobilized using biotin-binding proteins.
The defined PEG4 spacer provides hydrophilic separation between biotin and the azide functionality, improving accessibility while maintaining a precisely defined linker structure.
