Description
General Description
mPEG-PCL is a biodegradable diblock copolymer extensively utilized in nanomedicine and controlled drug delivery systems. Due to its amphiphilic nature, mPEG-PCL self-assembles in aqueous environments to form polymeric micelles and nanoparticles with a hydrophobic PCL core and a hydrophilic PEG shell.
The PCL block exhibits excellent biocompatibility and slow biodegradation characteristics, making mPEG-PCL particularly suitable for sustained drug release applications. The PEG corona reduces protein adsorption, improves colloidal stability, and prolongs circulation time. mPEG-PCL has been widely investigated for the delivery of anticancer drugs, proteins, peptides, and imaging agents.
