Description
General Description
MPEG-PLGA-NH2 is an amphiphilic block copolymer consisting of a hydrophilic MPEG segment and a biodegradable PLGA segment terminated with a primary amine group. The MPEG block improves aqueous stability, prolongs circulation time, and enhances biocompatibility, while the PLGA block enables controlled biodegradation and hydrophobic drug encapsulation.
The terminal amine group readily reacts with activated esters, carboxylic acids, aldehydes, isocyanates, and other amine-reactive molecules, enabling efficient bioconjugation and surface functionalization. MPEG-PLGA-NH2 readily self-assembles into polymeric micelles and nanoparticles in aqueous environments and is widely used for targeted drug delivery, nanoparticle modification, imaging probe development, and advanced biomaterials applications.
