8-arm-PLGA-OH

Price range: $260.00 through $1,200.00

8-Arm PLGA-OH (Eight-Arm Poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid)-Hydroxyl) is a star-shaped biodegradable polymer consisting of eight PLGA chains radiating from a multifunctional core and terminated with hydroxyl (OH) groups. Compared with linear PLGA, 8-Arm PLGA-OH provides significantly higher chain-end density, enhanced drug loading capability, tunable degradation behavior, and greater control over polymer architecture. 8-Arm PLGA-OH is widely used in drug delivery, nanoparticle fabrication, hydrogel formation, tissue engineering, and biomaterials research.

Description

General Description

8-Arm PLGA-OH is a highly branched biodegradable polyester designed for advanced drug delivery and biomedical applications. The polymer consists of eight PLGA chains attached to a central multifunctional core, creating a star-shaped architecture with multiple terminal hydroxyl groups.

Compared with conventional linear PLGA, 8-Arm PLGA-OH offers increased functionality, improved encapsulation efficiency, and enhanced control over degradation profiles. The terminal hydroxyl groups can be further modified to introduce reactive functionalities such as amine, carboxyl, maleimide, NHS ester, azide, alkyne, biotin, and other groups for specialized applications.

Upon hydrolysis, the polymer degrades into lactic acid and glycolic acid, making it suitable for biodegradable pharmaceutical formulations, regenerative medicine, and biomaterials development.
