4-Arm PLGA-NHS

Price range: $360.00 through $1,200.00

4-Arm PLGA-NHS (Four-Arm Poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid)-NHS Ester) is a star-shaped biodegradable polymer consisting of four PLGA chains terminated with activated NHS ester groups. Compared with linear PLGA-NHS, 4-Arm PLGA-NHS offers higher functional group density, enhanced conjugation efficiency, improved drug loading capability, and greater control over polymer architecture. The terminal NHS ester groups readily react with primary amines under mild conditions, making this polymer ideal for targeted drug delivery, nanoparticle functionalization, hydrogel formation, and biomaterials research.

Description

General Description

4-Arm PLGA-NHS is a multifunctional biodegradable polyester designed for advanced drug delivery and biomedical applications. The polymer consists of four PLGA chains radiating from a central core, with each arm terminating in a highly reactive N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) ester group.

The NHS ester functionalities rapidly react with amine-containing molecules to form stable amide bonds, enabling efficient conjugation of peptides, proteins, antibodies, targeting ligands, fluorophores, and other biomolecules. Compared with linear PLGA derivatives, the multi-arm architecture provides significantly higher reactive group density, allowing efficient preparation of multifunctional nanoparticles, targeted delivery systems, and crosslinked biomaterials.

Upon hydrolysis, the polymer degrades into lactic acid and glycolic acid, making it suitable for biodegradable pharmaceutical and biomedical applications.
