PDLLA-Thiol (PDLLA-SH)

Price range: $120.00 through $300.00

PDLLA-Thiol (PDLLA-SH) is a biodegradable poly(D,L-lactide) polymer terminated with a thiol group. The terminal thiol functionality provides a versatile reactive site for thiol-maleimide coupling, disulfide formation, Michael addition reactions, and surface modification, while the PDLLA backbone offers excellent biodegradability and biocompatibility. PDLLA-SH is widely used in drug delivery, nanoparticle formulation, tissue engineering, and biomaterials research.

Description

General Description

PDLLA-Thiol (PDLLA-SH) is a functional aliphatic polyester derived from D,L-lactide. Unlike crystalline PLLA, PDLLA is amorphous, resulting in more uniform degradation behavior and broader applicability in pharmaceutical and biomedical applications.

The terminal thiol group readily reacts with maleimides, vinyl sulfones, acrylates, and activated disulfides, enabling efficient conjugation with peptides, proteins, antibodies, fluorophores, nanoparticles, and targeting ligands. PDLLA-SH is frequently employed in nanoparticle preparation, polymer-drug conjugates, biodegradable implants, hydrogel formation, tissue engineering scaffolds, and controlled drug delivery systems.
