Description
Biotin-PEG-COOH is a multifunctional PEG linker designed for streptavidin-mediated immobilization and bioconjugation applications. The biotin group binds strongly and specifically to streptavidin, avidin, and neutravidin, enabling attachment of proteins, antibodies, peptides, enzymes, nucleic acids, nanoparticles, and other biomolecules.
The hydrophilic PEG spacer improves water solubility, flexibility, biocompatibility, and reduces steric hindrance during biological interactions. The terminal carboxylic acid group can be activated using EDC/NHS chemistry for coupling with primary amines, allowing efficient formation of stable amide bonds.
Biotin-PEG-COOH is frequently employed in biosensor fabrication, targeted drug delivery systems, molecular diagnostics, surface modification, nanoparticle engineering, and biomedical research.
