Description
General Description
HS-PEG-COOH is a versatile heterobifunctional PEG linker designed for bioconjugation and surface engineering applications. The terminal thiol group exhibits strong affinity for gold, silver, and various metal surfaces and can also participate in thiol-specific coupling reactions. The terminal carboxylic acid group can be activated using EDC/NHS chemistry for conjugation with peptides, proteins, antibodies, nucleic acids, and other amine-containing biomolecules.
The hydrophilic PEG spacer improves water solubility, biocompatibility, flexibility, and colloidal stability while reducing steric hindrance and nonspecific interactions. HS-PEG-COOH is frequently employed in nanoparticle modification, biosensor fabrication, targeted drug delivery, molecular diagnostics, and advanced biomaterials research.
