Description

General Description

DSG-PEG-Amine is an amphiphilic functional PEG-lipid designed for the preparation of surface-functionalized lipid-based delivery systems. The DSG moiety contains two saturated stearoyl (C18:0) lipid chains that readily incorporate into lipid bilayers, providing excellent membrane stability. The PEG spacer extends into the aqueous phase, enhancing colloidal stability, minimizing nonspecific protein adsorption, and prolonging systemic circulation.

The terminal primary amine readily reacts with activated carboxylic acids (NHS esters), aldehydes, epoxides, isocyanates, and other electrophilic functional groups to form stable covalent linkages. This versatile functionality enables efficient conjugation of antibodies, peptides, proteins, fluorescent dyes, targeting ligands, polymers, and imaging probes to the surface of liposomes and lipid nanoparticles.
