Description
General Description
MPEG-PLGA-COOH is an amphiphilic block copolymer consisting of a hydrophilic MPEG segment and a biodegradable PLGA segment terminated with a carboxylic acid group. The MPEG block improves aqueous stability and biocompatibility, while the PLGA block enables controlled biodegradation and hydrophobic drug encapsulation.
The terminal carboxyl group provides a versatile reactive site for conjugation through carbodiimide (EDC/NHS) chemistry and other carboxyl-coupling reactions. MPEG-PLGA-COOH readily self-assembles into polymeric micelles and nanoparticles in aqueous environments and is widely used for targeted drug delivery, nanoparticle surface functionalization, imaging probe preparation, and advanced biomaterials development.
