Description
General Description
PLGA-PEG-Alkyne is a functional biodegradable copolymer designed for nanoparticle formulation and bioorthogonal conjugation applications. The hydrophobic PLGA segment forms the core of nanoparticles and polymeric micelles capable of encapsulating hydrophobic drugs, proteins, peptides, nucleic acids, and imaging agents. The PEG segment forms a hydrophilic corona that improves colloidal stability, prolongs circulation time, and reduces nonspecific protein adsorption.
The terminal alkyne group enables efficient click chemistry reactions with azide-containing molecules through copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC). This allows convenient conjugation of targeting ligands, peptides, antibodies, fluorophores, imaging agents, carbohydrates, and other biomolecules.
PLGA-PEG-Alkyne is widely employed in targeted drug delivery, nanoparticle surface modification, molecular imaging, theranostics, tissue engineering, and advanced nanomedicine applications.
