PLGA-mPEG

Price range: $260.00 through $960.00

PLGA-mPEG is a biodegradable amphiphilic block copolymer consisting of poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) and methoxy polyethylene glycol (mPEG). The hydrophobic PLGA segment enables drug encapsulation and controlled release, while the hydrophilic mPEG segment improves aqueous solubility, biocompatibility, and nanoparticle stability. PLGA-mPEG is widely used in drug delivery, nanoparticle formulation, polymeric micelles, and biomedical research.

Description

General Description

PLGA-mPEG (mPEG-PLGA) is one of the most widely studied biodegradable block copolymers for pharmaceutical and biomedical applications. The PLGA segment forms a biodegradable hydrophobic core capable of encapsulating hydrophobic drugs, proteins, peptides, and imaging agents, while the mPEG segment forms a hydrophilic corona that enhances colloidal stability and reduces nonspecific protein adsorption.

Due to its amphiphilic nature, PLGA-mPEG readily self-assembles into nanoparticles, micelles, and nanocarriers in aqueous environments. The copolymer has been extensively investigated for controlled drug delivery, cancer therapy, gene delivery, vaccine development, tissue engineering, and nanomedicine applications.
