PLLA-PEG-FITC

Price range: $300.00 through $360.00

PLLA-PEG-FITC is a fluorescent biodegradable amphiphilic block copolymer composed of poly(L-lactide) (PLLA), polyethylene glycol (PEG), and a terminal fluorescein (FITC) group. The hydrophobic PLLA block supports nanoparticle and micelle formation, while PEG provides hydrophilicity and steric stabilization. FITC provides green fluorescence for nanoparticle tracking, cellular uptake studies, fluorescence imaging, drug delivery, and biomaterials research.

PLA-PEG-FITC

Description

General Description

PLLA-PEG-FITC is a fluorescent biodegradable block copolymer consisting of poly(L-lactide) (PLLA), a hydrophilic polyethylene glycol (PEG) spacer, and a terminal fluorescein (FITC) fluorophore.

The hydrophobic PLLA block provides a biodegradable polymer domain suitable for forming polymeric nanoparticles, micelles, and other self-assembled nanostructures. The PEG segment improves aqueous dispersibility and colloidal stability while positioning the fluorescent group away from the hydrophobic polymer domain.

FITC provides characteristic green fluorescence and is widely used for fluorescence microscopy, confocal microscopy, flow cytometry, and cellular uptake studies. Incorporation of FITC into PLLA-PEG enables fluorescent tracking of polymeric nanoparticles and other polymer-based drug delivery systems without requiring additional labeling after nanoparticle preparation.

PLLA-PEG-FITC is useful for studying nanoparticle formation, cellular internalization, intracellular trafficking, biodistribution, drug delivery, and polymer interactions with biological systems.
