Description
General Description
DSPE-PEG-Maleimide is a functional lipid conjugate composed of 1,2-distearoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine (DSPE), polyethylene glycol (PEG), and a terminal maleimide group. The hydrophobic DSPE moiety readily incorporates into liposomes, lipid nanoparticles, and lipid bilayers, while the PEG spacer improves colloidal stability and reduces nonspecific interactions.
The terminal maleimide group reacts efficiently with thiol-containing molecules, including peptides, proteins, antibodies, aptamers, and other ligands, forming stable thioether bonds under mild conditions. DSPE-PEG-Maleimide is widely used for targeted nanoparticle development, surface modification, and nanomedicine research.
