PCL-Biotin (PCL-Bio)

Price range: $360.00 through $1,200.00

PCL-Biotin (PCL-Bio) is a biotin-functionalized poly(ε-caprolactone) containing a terminal biotin group. It combines the biodegradable and hydrophobic properties of PCL with the high-affinity biotin–avidin/streptavidin interaction. Biotin-PCL is useful for nanoparticle functionalization, affinity-based immobilization, biomaterials, drug delivery research, and preparation of biotinylated polymer systems.

Description

General Description

PCL-Biotin (PCL-Bio) is a biotin-functionalized poly(ε-caprolactone) in which a PCL polymer chain is functionalized with a terminal biotin group.

Poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL) is a hydrophobic, biodegradable aliphatic polyester widely used in polymeric nanoparticles, biomaterials, controlled-release systems, and drug delivery research.

The terminal biotin group provides strong noncovalent binding to avidin, streptavidin, and neutravidin. This affinity interaction enables Biotin-PCL-containing materials to interact with streptavidin-functionalized proteins, probes, surfaces, nanoparticles, and other biomolecular systems.

Biotin-PCL can be incorporated into polymeric nanoparticles or other PCL-based materials to introduce biotin functionality while maintaining the biodegradable PCL component.
