Poly(ε-Caprolactone)-PEG-Poly(ε-Caprolactone) (PCL-PEG-PCL)

Price range: $260.00 through $300.00

Poly(ε-Caprolactone)-PEG-Poly(ε-Caprolactone) (PCL-PEG-PCL) is a biodegradable ABA triblock copolymer consisting of polyethylene glycol (PEG) flanked by two poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL) blocks. The hydrophobic PCL segments enable encapsulation of poorly water-soluble drugs, while the PEG segment enhances aqueous solubility, biocompatibility, and circulation time. PCL-PEG-PCL is widely used in drug delivery, polymeric micelles, hydrogels, tissue engineering, and biomaterials research.

Description

General Description

Poly(ε-Caprolactone)-PEG-Poly(ε-Caprolactone) (PCL-PEG-PCL) is an amphiphilic ABA triblock copolymer designed for advanced drug delivery and regenerative medicine applications. The hydrophobic PCL blocks are biodegradable aliphatic polyesters that provide excellent drug-loading capacity and sustained drug release. The central PEG segment imparts hydrophilicity, reduces nonspecific protein adsorption, improves colloidal stability, and prolongs systemic circulation.

Due to its amphiphilic architecture, PCL-PEG-PCL readily self-assembles into polymeric micelles and nanoparticles in aqueous solution. Depending on molecular weight and composition, it can also form thermosensitive or physically crosslinked hydrogels suitable for injectable drug delivery and tissue engineering applications.

PCL-PEG-PCL is extensively used in controlled drug delivery, nanomedicine, injectable hydrogels, scaffold fabrication, regenerative medicine, and pharmaceutical formulation development.
