PLGA-PEG-NHS

Price range: $300.00 through $1,200.00

PLGA-PEG-NHS is a biodegradable amphiphilic block copolymer consisting of poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA), polyethylene glycol (PEG), and a terminal N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) ester group. The hydrophobic PLGA segment enables drug encapsulation and controlled release, the PEG spacer improves aqueous stability and biocompatibility, and the NHS ester provides highly efficient conjugation with amine-containing biomolecules. PLGA-PEG-NHS is widely used in targeted drug delivery, nanoparticle functionalization, tissue engineering, and nanomedicine research.

Description

General Description

PLGA-PEG-NHS is a functional biodegradable copolymer designed for nanoparticle engineering and bioconjugation applications. The hydrophobic PLGA segment forms the core of nanoparticles and polymeric micelles capable of encapsulating hydrophobic drugs, proteins, peptides, nucleic acids, and imaging agents. The PEG segment forms a hydrophilic corona that improves colloidal stability, prolongs circulation time, and reduces nonspecific protein adsorption.

The terminal NHS ester readily reacts with primary amines on proteins, peptides, antibodies, aptamers, fluorophores, targeting ligands, and biomaterial surfaces under mild conditions to form stable amide bonds. This enables efficient preparation of targeted nanoparticles and functional drug delivery systems.

PLGA-PEG-NHS is widely employed in active targeting, antibody-conjugated nanoparticles, peptide-functionalized nanocarriers, molecular imaging, tissue engineering, and advanced nanomedicine applications.
