PLGA-PEG-Azide (PLGA-PEG-N3)

Price range: $300.00 through $1,200.00

PLGA-PEG-Azide (PLGA-PEG-N3) is a biodegradable amphiphilic block copolymer consisting of poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA), polyethylene glycol (PEG), and a terminal azide group. The hydrophobic PLGA segment enables drug encapsulation and controlled release, the PEG spacer improves aqueous stability and biocompatibility, and the azide functionality provides a versatile handle for click chemistry conjugation. PLGA-PEG-Azide is widely used in nanoparticle engineering, targeted drug delivery, molecular imaging, and nanomedicine research.  Tin free!

Description

General Description

PLGA-PEG-Azide (PLGA-PEG-N3) is a functional biodegradable block copolymer that combines the controlled degradation properties of poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) with the hydrophilicity and stealth characteristics of polyethylene glycol (PEG). The amphiphilic structure readily self-assembles into polymeric micelles and nanoparticles in aqueous environments, making it a widely used material for drug delivery applications.

The terminal azide group enables efficient copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) and strain-promoted azide-alkyne cycloaddition (SPAAC) reactions for conjugation with peptides, proteins, antibodies, fluorophores, nucleic acids, targeting ligands, and other biomolecules. PLGA-PEG-N₃ is commonly used in targeted nanomedicine, polymer therapeutics, imaging probes, and advanced biomaterials research.
