Description
General Description
DSPE-Succinic Acid is a carboxyl-functionalized phospholipid designed for the preparation of functional lipid-based delivery systems. The DSPE moiety contains two saturated stearoyl (C18:0) hydrocarbon chains that readily insert into lipid bilayers, liposomes, and lipid nanoparticles, providing excellent membrane stability.
The terminal succinic acid spacer introduces a reactive carboxylic acid group that can be activated using carbodiimide chemistry (EDC/NHS) or other peptide-coupling reagents for conjugation with proteins, peptides, antibodies, amine-containing drugs, polymers, nanoparticles, and targeting ligands. The succinic acid linker provides a short spacer between the lipid membrane and the conjugated molecule while maintaining excellent coupling efficiency.
DSPE-Succinic Acid is widely employed in targeted liposome preparation, lipid nanoparticle surface modification, biosensor fabrication, molecular imaging, and advanced nanomedicine applications.
