DSPE-glutaric acid

Price range: $100.00 through $650.00

DSPE-Glutaric Acid is a functional phospholipid derivative containing a DSPE lipid anchor and a terminal glutaric acid moiety. The terminal carboxylic acid group enables conjugation with primary amines through EDC/NHS coupling chemistry, while the DSPE lipid provides stable incorporation into liposomes, lipid nanoparticles (LNPs), and lipid membranes. DSPE-Glutaric Acid is widely used in liposome functionalization, drug delivery, nanoparticle engineering, and biomaterials research.

DSPE-Glutaric acid

Description

General Description

DSPE-Glutaric Acid is a carboxyl-functionalized phospholipid designed for the preparation of functional lipid-based delivery systems. The DSPE moiety contains two saturated stearoyl (C18:0) hydrocarbon chains that readily insert into lipid bilayers, liposomes, and lipid nanoparticles, providing excellent membrane stability.

The terminal glutaric acid spacer introduces a reactive carboxyl group that can be activated using carbodiimide chemistry (EDC/NHS) or other peptide-coupling reagents for conjugation with proteins, peptides, antibodies, amine-containing drugs, polymers, nanoparticles, and targeting ligands. The glutaric acid linker also provides additional spacing between the lipid membrane and conjugated biomolecules, improving accessibility and reducing steric hindrance.

DSPE-Glutaric Acid is widely employed in targeted liposome preparation, lipid nanoparticle surface modification, biosensor fabrication, molecular imaging, and advanced nanomedicine applications.
