Description
General Description
PLGA-PEG-COOH is a functional biodegradable copolymer designed for nanoparticle engineering and biomedical applications. The hydrophobic PLGA segment forms the core of nanoparticles and polymeric micelles capable of encapsulating hydrophobic drugs, proteins, peptides, nucleic acids, and imaging agents. The PEG segment forms a hydrophilic corona that improves colloidal stability, prolongs circulation time, and reduces nonspecific protein adsorption.
The terminal carboxylic acid group can be activated using EDC/NHS chemistry to conjugate antibodies, peptides, proteins, fluorophores, targeting ligands, nanoparticles, and other amine-containing molecules through stable amide bond formation.
PLGA-PEG-COOH is one of the most widely used biodegradable copolymers for targeted drug delivery, nanoparticle functionalization, molecular imaging, tissue engineering, and advanced nanomedicine applications.
