Description
General Description
DSPE-PEG-Aldehyde is a phospholipid–poly(ethylene glycol) conjugate containing DSPE (1,2-distearoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine, C18:0), a PEG spacer, and a terminal aldehyde functional group. The aldehyde group enables selective conjugation with hydrazide-, aminooxy-, and amine-containing molecules under mild conditions.
Applications
- Liposome surface functionalization
- Lipid nanoparticle (LNP) modification
- Protein and peptide conjugation
- Antibody immobilization
- Targeted drug delivery systems
- Biomolecule labeling
- Nanoparticle surface engineering
- Biosensor development
- Biomedical and pharmaceutical research
Features and Benefits
- Reactive aldehyde group for bioconjugation
- Forms Schiff base and oxime linkages with suitable nucleophiles
- DSPE anchor efficiently incorporates into lipid bilayers
- PEG spacer improves water solubility and steric stabilization
- Reduces nonspecific protein adsorption
- Suitable for liposome and LNP formulations
- Available in multiple PEG molecular weights
- High purity for research applications
