Acrylate-PEG-NHS

Price range: $300.00 through $800.00

Acrylate-PEG-NHS is a heterobifunctional polyethylene glycol (PEG) linker containing a terminal acrylate group and a terminal N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) ester. The acrylate functionality readily participates in Michael addition and free-radical polymerization, while the NHS ester selectively reacts with primary amines. Acrylate-PEG-NHS is widely used in hydrogel synthesis, protein conjugation, drug delivery, tissue engineering, and biomaterials research.

Description

General Description

Acrylate-PEG-NHS is a versatile heterobifunctional PEG reagent designed for orthogonal bioconjugation and hydrogel fabrication. The terminal NHS ester reacts rapidly with primary amines on proteins, peptides, antibodies, enzymes, and other biomolecules under mild aqueous conditions, forming stable amide bonds.

The terminal acrylate group is compatible with free-radical polymerization and readily undergoes Michael addition with thiol-containing molecules. This combination allows sequential conjugation of biomolecules followed by incorporation into polymer networks or hydrogels, making Acrylate-PEG-NHS an ideal building block for tissue engineering scaffolds, injectable hydrogels, surface coatings, and targeted drug delivery systems.

The hydrophilic PEG spacer enhances water solubility, molecular flexibility, and biocompatibility while minimizing nonspecific protein adsorption.
