Description
General Description
N3-Poly(L-Glutamic Acid) is a functional polyanionic polypeptide designed for bioorthogonal conjugation and advanced biomaterials applications. The polymer contains a terminal azide group that participates in copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) with terminal alkynes and strain-promoted azide-alkyne cycloaddition (SPAAC) with strained alkynes such as DBCO and BCN.
The poly(L-glutamic acid) backbone contains multiple pendant carboxylic acid groups that can be activated using EDC/NHS chemistry or peptide-coupling reagents for conjugation with amine-containing drugs, peptides, proteins, targeting ligands, polymers, and nanoparticles.
The combination of a biodegradable polypeptide backbone, abundant carboxyl groups, and a terminal azide makes N3-pGlu a versatile material for targeted drug delivery, polymer-drug conjugates, hydrogels, surface modification, molecular imaging, and nanomedicine research.
