RhB-PEG-NHS (Rhodamine B-PEG-NHS)

Price range: $360.00 through $385.00

RhB-PEG-NHS (Rhodamine B-PEG-NHS) is a heterobifunctional polyethylene glycol (PEG) derivative containing a Rhodamine B (RhB) fluorophore at one terminus and an N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) ester at the other. The RhB fluorophore provides bright red fluorescence for imaging and detection, while the NHS ester reacts rapidly and selectively with primary amines on proteins, peptides, antibodies, and other biomolecules. RhB-PEG-NHS is widely used in fluorescent labeling, bioconjugation, molecular imaging, diagnostics, and biomaterials research.

RhB-PEG-NHS

Description

General Description

RhB-PEG-NHS  (Rhodamine B-PEG-NHS) is a versatile fluorescent PEG linker designed for efficient amine-specific bioconjugation. The terminal NHS ester reacts readily with primary amines on proteins, peptides, antibodies, enzymes, nanoparticles, and other biomolecules under mild aqueous conditions, forming stable amide bonds with high labeling efficiency.

The Rhodamine B fluorophore emits intense red fluorescence with an excitation wavelength of approximately 540–560 nm and an emission wavelength of approximately 570–590 nm, making it ideal for fluorescence microscopy, confocal microscopy, flow cytometry, fluorescence spectroscopy, and multicolor imaging applications.

The hydrophilic PEG spacer improves water solubility, molecular flexibility, and biocompatibility while reducing steric hindrance and minimizing nonspecific protein adsorption. RhB-PEG-NHS is extensively employed in fluorescent protein labeling, antibody conjugation, nanoparticle functionalization, biosensor fabrication, molecular imaging, targeted drug delivery, and advanced biomaterials development.
