Description
General Description
FITC-PEG-NHS is a versatile fluorescent PEG linker designed for efficient amine-specific labeling of biomolecules. The terminal NHS ester selectively reacts with primary amine groups under mild aqueous conditions to form stable amide bonds with proteins, peptides, antibodies, enzymes, oligonucleotides, and other amine-containing compounds.
The FITC moiety provides strong green fluorescence, enabling visualization and quantitative analysis by fluorescence microscopy, confocal microscopy, flow cytometry, fluorescence spectroscopy, and other fluorescence-based techniques.
The hydrophilic PEG spacer enhances water solubility, improves molecular flexibility, reduces steric hindrance, and minimizes nonspecific protein adsorption, thereby improving labeling efficiency and preserving the biological activity of conjugated molecules.
FITC-PEG-NHS is widely employed for fluorescent protein labeling, antibody labeling, nanoparticle functionalization, biosensor fabrication, targeted drug delivery, molecular imaging, and biomedical research.
