Description

General Description

8-arm PEG-NPC is a branched PEG macromolecule functionalized with p-nitrophenyl carbonate (NPC) groups at the terminus of each PEG arm. The activated carbonate groups readily react with primary amines on proteins, peptides, antibodies, enzymes, polymers, and other biomolecules under mild conditions, producing stable carbamate bonds while releasing p-nitrophenol as the leaving group.

The eight-arm architecture provides a high density of reactive sites, enabling efficient multivalent conjugation, hydrogel crosslinking, and the preparation of three-dimensional PEG networks with enhanced mechanical properties. Compared with linear PEG derivatives, 8-arm PEG-NPC offers superior crosslinking efficiency and greater control over network structure and functionality.
