Cy3-NHS ester

Price range: $160.00 through $3,860.00

Cy3-NHS Ester is a highly reactive fluorescent labeling reagent containing a Cyanine 3 (Cy3) fluorophore and an N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) ester. The NHS ester reacts efficiently with primary amines on proteins, peptides, antibodies, nucleic acids, nanoparticles, and polymers to form stable amide bonds. Cy3-NHS Ester is widely used for fluorescence labeling, microscopy, flow cytometry, molecular diagnostics, and biomaterials research.

Description

General Description

Cy3-NHS Ester is a widely used amine-reactive fluorescent dye for covalent labeling of biomolecules. The Cyanine 3 fluorophore provides bright orange-red fluorescence with excitation and emission maxima of approximately 550 nm and 570 nm, respectively. Its high quantum yield, excellent brightness, and good photostability make it a preferred fluorophore for biological imaging and analytical assays.

The activated NHS ester reacts rapidly with primary amines under mild aqueous conditions (typically pH 7.2–8.8), forming stable amide bonds with lysine residues on proteins, peptides, antibodies, enzymes, amino-modified oligonucleotides, polymers, nanoparticles, and other biomolecules.

Cy3-NHS Ester is extensively employed in fluorescence microscopy, immunofluorescence, flow cytometry, FRET studies, biosensor development, nanoparticle labeling, molecular diagnostics, and drug delivery research.
