Description
General Description
DSPE-Pyrene is a fluorescent lipid probe designed for investigating membrane structure, lipid dynamics, and nanoparticle behavior. The DSPE lipid anchor contains two saturated stearoyl (C18:0) hydrocarbon chains that readily incorporate into lipid bilayers, liposomes, and lipid nanoparticles while maintaining excellent membrane stability.
The pyrene fluorophore exhibits characteristic monomer and excimer fluorescence, making it an excellent probe for studying membrane fluidity, lipid packing, molecular interactions, and self-assembly processes. Changes in pyrene fluorescence provide sensitive information about the local microenvironment, polarity, and intermolecular distances within lipid membranes.
DSPE-Pyrene is widely employed in fluorescence spectroscopy, membrane dynamics studies, liposome characterization, nanoparticle tracking, molecular imaging, biosensors, and nanomedicine research.
