Description
General Description
DSPE-FITC is a fluorescent lipid probe designed for visualization and tracking of lipid-based delivery systems. The DSPE lipid anchor contains two saturated stearoyl (C18:0) hydrocarbon chains that provide stable insertion into lipid bilayers, liposomes, and lipid nanoparticles.
The FITC fluorophore provides strong green fluorescence with excitation at approximately 495 nm and emission at approximately 519 nm, enabling detection by fluorescence microscopy, confocal microscopy, flow cytometry, and fluorescence spectroscopy.
DSPE-FITC allows stable fluorescent labeling of lipid membranes and nanoparticles without significantly altering lipid assembly properties. It is widely used for liposome tracking, cellular uptake studies, nanoparticle biodistribution research, membrane labeling, and advanced nanomedicine applications.
