Maleimide-PEG-RhB (Mal-PEG-RhB)

Price range: $360.00 through $425.00

Maleimide-PEG-RhB (Mal-PEG-RhB) is a heterobifunctional polyethylene glycol (PEG) derivative containing a terminal maleimide group and rhodamine B (RhB). The maleimide functionality reacts selectively with thiol-containing biomolecules, while RhB provides bright red fluorescence for imaging and detection. Maleimide-PEG-RhB is widely used in protein labeling, antibody conjugation, molecular imaging, biosensors, and biomaterials research

Mal-PEG-RhB

Description

General Description

Maleimide-PEG-RhB is a multifunctional fluorescent PEG linker designed for thiol-specific bioconjugation and fluorescence imaging. The terminal maleimide group rapidly and selectively reacts with sulfhydryl (thiol) groups on cysteine-containing peptides, proteins, antibodies, enzymes, and other biomolecules under mild physiological conditions, forming stable thioether linkages.

The Rhodamine B fluorophore provides intense red fluorescence with an excitation wavelength of approximately 540–560 nm and an emission wavelength of approximately 570–590 nm, making it well suited for fluorescence microscopy, confocal microscopy, flow cytometry, fluorescence spectroscopy, and multicolor imaging applications.

The hydrophilic PEG spacer enhances water solubility, molecular flexibility, and biocompatibility while reducing steric hindrance and minimizing nonspecific protein adsorption. Maleimide-PEG-RhB is extensively used for fluorescent protein labeling, antibody labeling, nanoparticle functionalization, biosensor fabrication, molecular imaging, targeted drug delivery, and nanomedicine research.
