Description
General Description
N3-PEG-Alkyne is a versatile heterobifunctional PEG linker designed for click chemistry and multifunctional bioconjugation. The terminal azide group readily reacts with terminal alkynes via CuAAC or with strained alkynes such as DBCO and BCN through copper-free SPAAC chemistry. The terminal alkyne group reacts selectively with azide-containing molecules via CuAAC, allowing sequential or orthogonal conjugation strategies.
The hydrophilic PEG spacer provides excellent water solubility, molecular flexibility, biocompatibility, and minimizes nonspecific protein adsorption. By incorporating both azide and alkyne functionalities into a single molecule, N3-PEG-Alkyne serves as an ideal building block for polymer synthesis, hydrogel fabrication, dendrimer construction, nanoparticle engineering, fluorescent probe preparation, and advanced biomaterials development.
