Description
General Description
Biotin-PEG-NHS (BIO-PEG-NHS) is a versatile amine-reactive PEGylation reagent designed for efficient biotinylation of biomolecules. The terminal NHS ester selectively reacts with primary amines under mild aqueous conditions to form stable amide bonds with proteins, peptides, antibodies, enzymes, oligonucleotides, and other amine-containing compounds.
The biotin moiety binds with exceptionally high affinity to streptavidin and avidin, making this reagent ideal for affinity purification, protein immobilization, molecular imaging, diagnostic assays, and biosensor development. The PEG spacer enhances water solubility, improves molecular flexibility, reduces steric hindrance, and minimizes nonspecific protein adsorption, thereby improving biotin accessibility and binding efficiency.
Biotin-PEG-NHS is widely employed in antibody labeling, enzyme immobilization, nanoparticle functionalization, targeted drug delivery, proteomics, diagnostics, and advanced biomaterials applications.
